Product Development & Training

 

 

  • We can offer a range of training solutions to suit our clients with a focus on product safety and compliance requirements for across a wide range of consumer products. Our focus is to ensure safety is key consideration when designing, sourcing and buying consumer goods.

  • Our comprehensive training programs cover an understanding of Australian standards and their relationship on products, we can tailor programs to include product safety, foreseeable use and misuse, quality and regulatory compliance elements. Training can be delivered at our clients premises or we can offer virtual training options, especially useful for teams who are working under hybrid conditions or where team members may also be located overseas in a clients representative offices.

Retail Store Audits

 

 

  • ​With an extensive background in retail, our services include in store product safety and compliance audits for bricks & mortar clients, we conduct store walk throughs and visually check your product range to ensure all products being presented to consumers are safe and compliant with the related laws.

  • Occasionally a final product that reaches store shelves may not be compliant, POS warnings may not be visible to consumers.

  • Consumer returns may be placed back on show for sale and may not include information that is required under prescribed laws.

  • Our capabilities also cover conducting desktop product safety and compliance audits for online retailers and marketplace platform operators.

Australian Industrial Chemicals Introduction Scheme (AICIS)

 

  • Assist clients in understanding their obligations under the scheme.

  • Setting up of a clients chemical inventory database to enable timely responses to products selected for AICIS compliance audits

  • Assistance in understanding introduction categories, e.g. when is a naturally occurring chemical no longer assessed as being natural.

  • Confidential review of ingredients in cosmetic products to ensure they are on the Australian Inventory of Industrial Chemicals (AICIS) and and identifying requirements that may affect their use including AICIS chemical assessments and the Standard for the Uniform Scheduling of Medicines and Poisons (SUSMP).

Electrical Equipment Safety System (EESS) (ERAC)
  • The Electrical Regulatory Authorities Council (ERAC) is an industry body of electrical safety regulators in Australia and New Zealand. ERAC acts to ensure electrical safety regulatory systems are contemporary and harmonised wherever possible.

  • We can support our clients to ensure the correct standards are applied, products are covered by an applicable Certificate of Conformity for level 2 & 3 devices, and ensure level 1 devices meet the minimum essential electrical safety standards.

  • Our team can also assist clients with their EESS Responsible Supplier registrations and the registration of their electrical equipment on the EESS database.

Food Standards Australia New Zealand
  • Food Labelling requirements under the Australia New Zealand Food Standards Code apply for most products. Labelling requirements vary depending on the product category, compositions and ingredients, the size of the product and packaging.

  • There are also a variety of other regulations than impact on food packaging and labelling, such as Australian Consumer Law, including Country of Origin claims enforced by the ACCC, and requirements administer by the National Measurement Institute covering trade weights and measures.

  • Food Labelling requirements can be complex and we can help navigate the requirements, we are able to assist businesses who import products such as confectionery to localise their labelling to reduce costly recalls that may result when certain information such as allergen disclosure are not adequate to meet safety standards.

  • Recalls for non-compliant food labels can damage reputations and result in unnecessary cost burdens, or worse may lead to serious illnesses or death.

  • We can assist businesses in ensuring food products are labelling correctly and clearly.

Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA)

 

  • Assist clients in understanding their obligations under the scheme and provide guidance on registering products as a sponsor.

  • Guide sponsors on documentation requirements to support lodgment of medical device applications of facilitate the application process as an authorised sponsor agent.

  • Assist in the preparation of your TGA Essential Principles Checklist to facilitate registering medical devices.

  • Confidential review of documentation to assist sponsors register international brands, by providing a degree of separation between a sponsor and brand to protect intellectual property.

  • Manage medical device registrations for our clients through to approval and listing on the TGA ARTG.
